Just read across the timeline to explore the year: January appears on your left, and December on your right. As you look down the timeline you'll see colored bars. These bars show you instantly when this area of life is most active for you. Where you see a colored bar, important activity is happening.

... and clear interpretation

Along with each timeline is a table of detailed interpretations, color-coded to the colored bars in the timeline. Here's a sample:

Each row in the table has the same color as the bar in the timeline. In this example, the dark purple bars in the timeline represent Jupiter's activity. When you look at the interpretation table, the dark purple highlight matches the bar's color.

For each interpretation, the left column tells you which planet is affecting you, along with some keywords about that planet's influence. In this example, it's Jupiter, which corresponds to growth and expansion. The middle column spells out the exact dates when the contact is effective. Because of how the Earth and the other planets move, you may see more than one time period for each contact.

The right column tells you about the planet's effect on you. There's space for you to make notes about the effect that you see during the year. This is important, because if a contact happens more than once during the year you can use the notes you take from the first occurrence to understand better what a subsequent one might mean. You're beginning to understand how the language of the planets translates into your personal life.

A Cosmobiological approach...

I've been a student of astrology for forty-two years, beginning when I was ten years old. In 1974, I learned of a radically different approach to astrological interpretation, called Cosmobiology. The great German astrologer, Reinhold Ebertin, developed Cosmobiology during and after World War II.

Cosmobiology isn't particularly interested in signs and houses. It focuses almost completely on the geometric patterns formed by the planets as they move. Instead of interpreting the significance of the signs, Cosmobiology looks to the basic meaning of each planet - and combines these basic planetary meanings to reveal profound insights.

This planet-centered approach made great sense to me back in 1974, and I've used it almost exclusively since then. I've embodied Cosmobiological principles using sophisticated computer-based pattern analysis - software that I've personally developed and continue to evolve. All my experience flowed into the software that powers this website - and in the interpretations that the software delivers. I'm also a student of the Western Mystery Traditions. My special interest is in the viewpoints of mystical scholars in the Renaissance and shortly after. These mystics understood life as a balancing act. The good life is not one of immense consumption, but of richly experienced living.

How we do this

When you purchase Preview Your 2009, our systems compute your chart, using the birth data that you give us when you join EvolvingAlchemy.com. Next, our systems compute the placements of the slow moving planets each day during 2009. They construct a log that shows when one of these planets touches a sensitive point in your chart.
